Dear
Homeowners,
Your Board Members, Phil Weaver, Roger Gunlock, and
Bud Holiga have recently learned that there is a small contingent of neighbors
who are apparently unhappy about how the HOA is being run. We understand this
small group has had secret meetings and making a number of accusations. We
learned of this group recently when they invited us to a meeting to respond to
their unsupported accusations. We
don’t intend to attend any secret meetings—rather we will conduct the
normal annual HOA meeting on April 7 to which everyone is invited and at which
any issue can be raised.
This letter is an outreach to the majority of
neighbors who realize that, while we are not asking for sympathy, we do ask for understanding. Our volunteer positions as Trustees are
not easy and are in fact sometimes a thankless job. We state unequivocally that we have served honestly and
admirably. There has been NO
wrongdoing, and the finances are, have been and continue to be in order. It is disturbing that this small
contingent of neighbors is questioning our recordkeeping, our finances, our
integrity and our openness.
Even with our dues continuing to be only $250.00
per year our neighborhood continues to be solvent and properly taken care
of. Your Board Members take an
active role in performing minor maintenance on signs, signposts, lighting,
decorations, and other items to keep costs in line. Yet this group gives us no credit and insists on forcing us
to spend your money unnecessarily on attorney fees responding to their attorney
who is writing us intimidating letters and requesting exorbitant amounts of
paperwork in reference to the HOA files.
We have chosen to take the high road through this
period. As we will report at the
annual meeting, we are also working on implementing a newly enacted Ohio law
(passed last fall) which puts new paperwork and meeting requirements in
place. The new law requires us to
be more formal going forward and we will do so.
So, this year, more than ever, we need you to
attend the annual OPEN meeting for all homeowners at the high school on April
7, 2011 at 7:00 PM. Your
non-attendance could result in a small group taking over the HOA and taking
action which we do not believe is in the interests of the homeowners.
Support your neighborhood and your elected Board
Members by attending the April 7, 2011 meeting.
Thank you.
