We’re excited to share some great news about the pond! After hiring a new pond maintenance company and conducting a thorough evaluation, we’re happy to report that the pond is in excellent shape. Even after 28 years, it still retains over 50% of its original capacity.
As part of our new maintenance plan, we’ve introduced additional treatments, including the use of probiotics to help break down organic matter. Thanks to these improvements, we may never need to dredge the pond.
At the annual meeting, it was mentioned that dredging might be necessary—a project that would come with a very high cost. However, as we investigated further, we found that the initial estimates were significantly higher than what other companies were quoting. Additionally, we were not seeing the promised improvements, and we became concerned that decisions were being made without proper measurements or data.
We then undertook a careful vetting process to find a new maintenance provider. The results from the new company have been outstanding. They conducted a detailed depth analysis and even took a core sample, both of which confirmed the pond’s health and long-term viability.
In short, the outlook for the pond is very positive. With the continued support of a professional maintenance plan, we believe dredging may never be necessary.
